About Us

Szechuan Chongqing Seafood Restaurant

Fresh from Hong Kong, with three kids, five hundred dollars in savings, and a cold place named Winnipeg Manitoba to call home: that's history to Bor and Kai Wong. Back in 1983, the Wong family opened the doors of the first Szechuan Chongqing in Vancouver, B.C. A Buddhist temple now occupies the site of their original location. They then moved to Commercial and 12th, which they had sold to new owners known as the Wong family back in 1993. During that year, the West Broadway location was newly opened. For the past 27 years, the Wongs have been showing West Coast diners how Szechuan is done.

On West Broadway, the Chongqing kitchen created original favorites such as Szechuan- style green beans, mouth-watering ginger beef, and tan tan noodle soup. You can't forget about their famous dai ching chicken with or without bones, and General Tso’s chicken. But that's not all. Our live fresh seafood menu features specialties such as Alaskan king crab, rockcod with ginger and onions, live jumbo prawns with chili sauce, and also the scallops and oysters with black bean and garlic.
